Biography
Jon specializes in patent prosecution, with decades of legal and engineering experience. He has obtained hundreds of patents for clients in various countries throughout the world. Jon has a Ph. D. in mechanical engineering, and experience as an aerospace engineering, both in private industry (with the McDonnell-Douglas Corporation) and with the U.S. government (with the NASA Lewis Research Center). Jon focuses mainly on patent matters involving the mechanical arts, although he is able to handle a wide variety of technologies, as well as non-technical intellectual property issues.
The wide variety of technical areas in which Dr. Platt has obtained patent protection for clients includes: aerospace systems, mechanical fasteners, medical devices, radar systems, electrical connectors, heat transfer devices, optical readers, hydraulic actuators, semiconductor devices, computer displays, and physical training equipment.
