Biography
Mr. Moxon focuses his practice on intellectual property law, including patent preparation and prosecution, trademark procurement and opposition, licensing issues and trade secrets litigation. He has handled a variety of technologies, including biotech and drug delivery technology, materials technology, including organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry, as well as mechanical technologies.
George’s unique brand of representation is informed by his significant experience acting as a corporate IP Counsel, including Fortune 500 companies Lockheed Martin, B.F. Goodrich, Ferro Corporation and BP America. In private practice, he has represented major corporations, specialty chemicals businesses, and major universities. His special awareness of corporate issues enables him to provide strategic counsel in protecting assets.
As a former in-house corporate patent attorney, George has managed a multimillion-dollar patent litigation for a major corporation that resulted in a settlement. He has also handled several European patent oppositions, and has assisted in multiple acquisitions (ranging from $10 million to $300 million) and divestitures. He participated in and provided IP agreements for joint ventures between a corporation and a "university" startup to develop drug-delivering technology. He has drafted and implemented an Intellectual Property Policy and Procedures Manual for a specialty chemicals business.
In addition to multiple partnerships in private legal practice, including Moxon and Associates, George began his career working for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as a Patent Examiner.
Mr. Moxon has served on numerous boards, including the Weathervane Community Playhouse Theatre and Greenleaf Family Services. He was previously selected as an "Ohio Super Lawyer" by Law & Politics magazine and Cincinnati Magazine.
